Fall 2015 expansion project information

New Belgium Brewing will break ground on an office expansion project in fall 2015 that also includes expanding its Liquid Center Tasting Room, beer garden and the addition of a co-worker health care facility onsite. The additional 13,400 square feet of office space will allow New Belgium co-workers who have been working offsite in temporary rented space to move back into the brewery’s main facility at 500 Linden St. The tasting room will garner an additional 1,600 square feet to accommodate increased visitor numbers, a 1,500-square-foot health clinic will allow co-workers and their families on-site care, and the current front parking lot will be developed into a grassy lawn and beer garden.

The on-site health care clinic will be for co-workers and their families only and will be staffed by New Belgium’s in-house physician and a medical assistant. They will not see outside patients.

Brinkman Construction is the General Contractor for the expansion work. The project is slated to begin late September 2015 and should be completed by June 2016. Cost estimates are approximately $7 million.

Additionally, New Belgium is granting an easement to the city to widen Buckingham Street. between First and Third streets. That work will is scheduled to begin Oct. 5, 2015, and should wrap by Nov. 17, 2015. Buckingham is scheduled to close to traffic Oct. 19-20. Traffic for New Belgium will be directed away from the Buckingham neighborhood throughout the process and brewery parking will be located behind the former Matrix building at the northwest corner of Linden Street and Buckingham.

New Belgium will post construction updates here.
