Coast to Coast Post Toast
March 2, 2009 will hold a follyesque significance in New Belgium history. It's the day we opened our first state on the eastern seaboard. Yes, North Carolina welcomed us with open arms and our very own Ryan Beach hit the beach on the Atlantic in celebration:

To make it a real coast-to-coast commemoration, our Beer Ranger in So Cali, Dallas Byerley, paddled ‘round in the Pacific:

And those of us landlocked here in Colorado just toasted to their efforts and rode our cruisers around with bikebells ring-a-ling-dinging.

As I've been stuck on the
As I've been stuck on the east coast now for nearly five years, seeing your availability map light up on the eastern seaboard makes me immensely happy--and hopeful that you'll expand at least one more state up north, into Virginia, so that I may slip the surly bonds of DC and touch a bottle of fat tire.
So glad you made it over to
So glad you made it over to the east coast! Until the airlines banned liquids of more than 4 ounces, I would carry on a 12 pack of Fat Tire on my visits back to Colorado from Florida. I have been known to make a detour of hundreds of miles into Omaha while on a road trip just to pick up a couple of cases.
Now it's that much closer...
Congrats guys!
Congrats guys!
For 10 years, I've been
For 10 years, I've been visiting friends in Fort Collins and have been enjoying many of the New Belgium brews, Fat Tire in particular. Upon leaving to come home, I'd bemoan that I wouldn't have another good beer until I had a return visit. I can't tell you how excited I am that they're finally available in my town of Charlotte, NC. New Belgium has such a following here so you've made hundreds, probably thousands, of people happy, at a time when we could use some real cheer! Hats off to finally making it east. I just hope as your sales continue to grow, you'll consider adding your seasonal selections, particularly Skinny Dip, to the distribution in NC.
Ahh, it's good to see great
Ahh, it's good to see great beer reaching all points in this country slowly so that those of us that appreciate great beer don't have to suffer, particularly when we travel or move away from an area of great local beer. Also, I hope to see New Belgium take its place as one of US's top three breweries!
Keep up the GREAT work!
Georgia. Please!
Georgia. Please!
Right on, for the last 10
Right on, for the last 10 years our return trips from CO., NM, and TX have been right out of the Smokey and the Bandit story line, load up as much Fat Tire that you can haul back East bound and Down, we were excited when an associate came back loaded up with cases of NB brew from Eastern TN, and knew the time was coming soon to be able to pick up the tire in North Cacalaci.........Welcome to the old north state....

Since moving back home to NC
Since moving back home to NC from Colorado, I have been waiting for this day to come. Fat Tire has been all my friends and I have talked about since I moved back, and numerous Fat Tire parties have begun now that NC has it in stores, though regretably, most stores sell out so quickly! We are hoping soon that kegs will come, along with the many other great beers New Belgium has to offer. Congrats on coming east bound and down and keep the good times rolling east.

CHEERS to our neighbors over
CHEERS to our neighbors over the mountain! Glad to have NB in NC now too. Us Tennesseans have been guzzling the stuff down like holy water so that's why it took a little longer to get over there. :)
Salinte! to New Belgium for making it east!
I will still go out to CO to
I will still go out to CO to visit Dad (who turned me on to Fat Tire and others) but now I don't have to wait for a visit to enjoy one of my favorites. I have pestered the guy at my usual beverage store for several years to "let me know if it happens". He was on the phone the other day when I walked in and he smiled knowingly as I walked toward the coolers. As I perused the shelves, my heart stuttered as I caught a glimpse of something familiar. It triggered in me an emotional reaction that only occurs on rare occasions. My first impulse was to think that it was a cruel joke or that some foul opportunist had used similar labeling to mislead the less privileged. Then the bike came into focus and I said to myself "YES WE CAN". Thank you NEW BELGIUM! Your efforts at responsible human existence are remarkable and I am proud to be a customer of yours.

I went to CSU for my first
I went to CSU for my first degree and currently go to UNCG for my second. On a trip to the pub house on campus I noticed some eerily familiar boxes behind the bar. Needless to say, my head went through the roof!!! I have always tried to explain what New Belgium Brewery has to offer in comparison to the beers here in Greensboro and what you represent. I am very excited that you are here and will be singing your praises in all the bars in town! Thank you New Belgium for your migration :).

I sit in a Oregon hotel room... 3 Fat Tire empties on the desk in from of me to the right of the laptop, a Mighty Arrow empty to the left. I have a four and a half hour flight tomorrow back to Atlanta, but two Fat Tires remain covered in ice in the sink. Do I pack them for my wife or drink them before resting my weary head? Please New Belgium, take Atlanta like Sherman did so many years ago so I can drink the last two...

The best thing in the world
The best thing in the world happened today. I walked into my local grocery store and saw the distinctive Fat Tire label amongst all the other brands. I have been waiting for this moment for 4 years since I left California and drove through AZ on purpose so I could bring some Fat Tire back to the East Coast with me. The distributor was in the store at the time and I thanked him for putting it on the shelves, although I think he thought I was a little crazy. Either way, thank you New Belgium for expanding to NC!!!!!!!!!!
What about New England!?
What about New England!? We'd love Fat Tire to come to New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Vermont.......please?!
I am in VA and thrilled to be
I am in VA and thrilled to be able to drive only an hour and a half to get it now in North Carolina. Before I would have to drive to Tennessee to get the stuff. However I cannot complain to much since it is within driving distance. Before TN and NC I would only get it when I was out west. I could never quite get myself in the car to drive 12 hours one way to St. Louis to pick it up.
