AUSTIN!

Well the last show is in the books and it really was a doozy.  Lots of people, lots of fun.  We raised 13,500 dollars and carried over a 90% waste diversion rate, that is really good.

Well, the crew is heading home (its been a long time coming) so I better go pack up my stuff and start driving.Thank you Austin, we'll see you next year.  And as for the rest of you stay tuned, the season re-cap is on its way.

Soon,

Tempe, I just woke up.

Well what can I say?  I have been sleeping for days and I just woke up, and holy smokes, I still don't think I have recovered.  That was (attendance-wise) the second largest show ever, and money-wise the biggest.  We (together (and at first count)) raised 63,000 bucks.  That there is a huge number.  And the people of Tempe had a real fun time, and the TdF crew joined them in the fun having shenanigans.  Thank you Tempe, that was a special day.Read more

San Diego Summer-time Fun

Well it is right now Sunday at 6:51 pst and I just woke up from a really pleasant nap.  Yesterday (and preceding days) really took it out of me, so this afternoon at 1ish (pst) I turned on the hotel TV and quickly found one of my favorite movies of all time (and coincidentally, set right here in San Diego) "Top Gun".  Man, that movie has everything, good guys, bad guys, internal conflict among the good guys, communists, jet planes, Val Kilmer, missiles, beach volleyball...Read more

SF and a quick catch up.

Well it has been a few days since the single speed world championships and man was it fun.  But onto current events.  Its Thursday in San Francisco, that means Team Wonderbike Bicycle Ride of Destiny.  We are meeting at Speedway Meadow (the site of Saturday's TDF) in Golden Gate Park at 6pm, bring friends, smiles.

Now I want to tell you about today. We rode across this:

WOW-ZERS

Well that was huge.  The parade alone was like a trillion people, it took over an hour just to get everybody riding, FUN, FUN, FUN.   Then we all hustled into the show and enjoyed the sunshine and other wonderfulness.  As a recap it was 70,000 dollars raised for local cycling, over 12,000 people, and together we did it with over a 90% waste diversion rate.  Nice work everybody.

I'm going to continue with the resting now and I'll get back with you in a few days.

Just the facts....

Ok, so I am aware that it is no longer Saturday, and I also know that right now I am sitting comfortably, 753 miles from Boise in my own house with fresh coffee, and a dog and cat (it's also Tuesday, and this post is supposed to be a Saturday night affair).  Which is about as far removed from Saturdays big ol' Tour de Fat as I could get right now, but Juicebox needed a few days to repair himself and get his head on straight.Read more

Boise and Buckhunter..... does it get any better?

So you folks know how much I love the Buckhunter right?  Well I do.  This love stems from my uneasiness at shooting actual animals, so I relish in the shooting of virtual animals.  I'm not sure what this stems from (my need to hunt), but it's there and thanks to Boise I no longer have to bury that need deep in the recesses (I'm not sure I used that word correctly (but hopefully you get the jist)). Read more

Trade my car for a bike: Boise

My car is a 1992 VW Jetta. It's black, it's cool, it has low miles and gets good gas mileage. It also has a red button on the dash that serves as the horn. I thought it would eject me through the sunroof the first time I drove the car. All in all, it's the perfect commuter car. So why would I want to trade it for a bike?
