It's over. OVER, I tell you. That's right, Tour de Fat is a wrap here in Tempe, which means that the 2013 season is officially over. And while endings are always sad, I can't think of a better city to end the season in than Tempe, AZ.
I'm going to keep this post short and sweet, because, well, there are seven months before the next show, which means I've got a lot of time to tell you (in very fine detail) how awesome today was. Suffice to say, it was tubular.
Tempe raised $85,000(ish) today for local nonprofits Tempe Bicycle Action Group, Bike Saviours, Mountain Bike Association of Arizona and Central Arizona Mountain Bike Patrol. The numbers aren't final yet, but Tempe might have out-raised our hometown Fort Collins show.
That's no small feat, especially considering the turnout at the Fort Collins show was approximately 25,000.
That's it for now. I'll post more photos from Tempe — as well as a larger post recapping the 2013 season — this week. For now, though, it's high-time to break down the bike pit.
Cheers (and <3) — Nic The Intern
