You know what we haven't done for a long time? Talked about Sunshine Wheat. I love this beer, and the further we get from 1991 the harder it is to find. I wish that wasn't the case, but alas, it is. Sunshine Wheat has turned into a rare beer.
BUT! I thought I would take today and review it. So, let's go:
Visual: Sunny, light yellow. Bright white foam,
Aroma: Fruit Loops all the way. The orange peel and coriander additions pair up with the yeast and smelling this beer takes me right back to the breakfast table when I was a kid.
Taste: Sweet, a touch tart, so refreshing. There is a citrus bite that makes this beer very quenching.
Mouthfeel/Body: Light and clean. The carbonation adds a crispness to be reckoned with.
Overall: I love this beer. While the aroma takes me back to the breakfast table in 1986, the taste brings me back to lazing by the river in 2007 (and 2000, and 1997, and 2003, and 2012, and... you get the picture). This has been my go-to beer for summer-time adventure since I knew that craft beer paired with summer-time adventure. Everything about Sunshine screams summer. I mean come on, it's called Sunshine for dang sakes. My advice (if you can go buy some Sunshine) is to ride your bike to the store and buy some Sunshine. Fire up the grill and make food, then wrap that food in foil and take it (the foiled up food), and the Sunshine, to the river and have an evening picnic, you will not regret it.
So, that leaves us with the "where." Just where can you get Sunshine? Well, I am not totally sure. But you know who is? The Beer Finder. Click this link, type in your address, and see what happens.
Good luck my friends and I will see you on Wednesday!
