Check out Todd Van Fleet's bicycle landscape photography

Bikes, beer, a camera, and a rented RV. Our pal Todd Van Fleet came to us a few months back with those things on his mind, and we were listening. Todd specializes in photographing vintage bicycles in out-of-the-way, often hard-to-get-to areas; his shots have hung around the brewery for years. Last summer Todd loaded an RV with bikes he’d been collecting, a few friends and a list of spots to shoot at around the Western and Southwestern U.S. We figured, “Hey, you’ll probably need some beer for those desert night times, right?” So we threw him some brews and an old New Belgium cruiser. Fast forward to today, when Todd’s project is a wrap and LOOKS GREAT. Check out the whole video below, and t...

After all, S*P*R Bowl Sunday isn’t Super without a spread of delicacies paired with a fridge of tasty New Belgium beers. So, we hit up some co-workers to ask, “What’s your favorite BIG GAME beer and food pairing?” Here’s what they had to say: LINDSAY BARR Sensory Specialist “Lil’ smokeys and 1554!  YAY!” Plus, this special tip: “Ranger with anything salty makes the bitterness seem less dramatic because salt suppresses bitter. So that’s a fun flavor trick.” TANYA VICTOR Sales Talent Development Coordinator “Spicy, citrus cocktail shrimp w...

What if New Belgium beers played football?

With the Super Bowl almost upon us, and split loyalties causing quite the schism throughout the company (we’re headquartered in Fort Collins, Colo. [Go Broncos!] but also have a new brewery in Asheville, N.C. [Go Panthers!]), we found a unifying topic everyone at New Belgium can get behind: If our year-round beers were football players, which positions would the play? This is serious business, so we took some serious time to figure it out. Fat Tire Quarterback The stalwart, reliable leader who has called the shots since we first opened in 1991. Fat Tire’s watched the landscape of the game change dramatically over the years, and has been a pillar of strength during that evolution. It alwa...

Our first seasonal of 2016: Meet Side Trip Belgian-style Pale Ale

It’s a brand-new year, and we’re kicking off 2016 with a brand-new beer: Meet Side Trip Belgian-style Pale Ale, our new quaffable beer with a pretty rad backstory. Each summer, New Belgium co-workers celebrating their 5th anniversary go on a week-long pilgrimage to Belgium along with brewmaster Peter Bouckaert (who was born in Belgium and spent time brewing at Rodenbach). During our last anniversary retreat, Bouckaert had an extra item on his to-do list: Find the perfect yeast strain for his next beer, which he envisioned as a quaffable Belgian-style ale. Naturally, his method of research involved drinking beer. During the trip, inspiration struck Bouckaert while he sampled a beer from B...
