The event Grew by 77% Since Last Year!
About 8,000 bicycle and beer enthusiasts came to Palmer Square for the event and 1,500 people participated in the bike parade. The Chicago beneficiary is West Town Bikes, whose goals are to promote bicycling in the city of Chicago, educate youth with a focus on under-served populations, and foster and serve Chicago’s growing bicycling community.
“Tour de Fat is the most fun summer bicycle festival in Chicago and it serves a great
cause. People who have an afternoon of ‘bikes, beer and bemusement’ make it possible
for us to provide year-round youth programs that change young people’s lives,” said
Alex Wilson, Executive Director of West Town Bikes. “West Town Bikes is proud of the
