2010 Grant Guidelines
The purpose of New Belgium's small grants program is to serve and connect with the local communities where we sell our beers. We want to cultivate relationships and support those making an impact. Funding decisions are made by our Sustainability Department and our Employee Advisory Committee.
New Belgium uses our philanthropy dollars to promote Environmental Stewardship. Specifically, we focus on grants in the following categories:
Environmental Stewardship
- Water Stewardship
- Sensible Transportation & Bike Advocacy
- Sustainable agriculture
- Youth environmental education
Our geographic funding areas
The states to receive funding in 2010 are Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oregon, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
Purpose of Support
We offer funding in both program support and general operating needs.
We do not fund:
- Organizations without 501(c) (3) status
- Debt reduction
- Requests from individuals including scholarships
- Conferences, conventions or workshops
- Political campaigns
- Organizations for religious purposes
- Fundraising events, music festivals, film festivals or cultural events
- Public or private school programs
- Production of films or other media-related projects
- Global issues or international projects even if main organization is based in one of our geographic funding areas
How much to request:
Small grants range from $500-$5,000
How to apply
If you are based in one of our geographic areas and your work matches one of our funding interests please fill out the form listed below February 1, 2010 - June 1, 2010 or August 1, 2010-November 1, 2010. We accept one grant request per calendar year. Most applications will be processed within three months. We will not be accepting applications June 2, 2010-July 31, 2010.
