Another lovely season of bike-in rides into the sunset

For all of us Fort Collins locals, 'tis a sad Thursday without the bike-in movies. Alas, another bike-in movie season has passed, but not without an outstanding turnout for the last show, "The Big Lebowski". As some of you may know, the last film was shown in honor of Rebecca Allen, a Fort Collins cyclist who was hit and killed by a motorist this past summer. With "The Big Lebowski" being Rebecca's favorite movie, the film was added to the bike-in line up in effort to celebrate her life. Nearly 1,000 attendees, many of which were her friends and family, raised $2,001 at the door which will go toward cycling advocacy (non-profit TBA). An additional $4,152 was raised through beer sales and will go into the Rebecca Allen TV Alumni Scholarship given through Colorado State University's journalism department. It was a great season with plenty-o-bikes, beer and great flicks. Props to all those who made it happen.
