Pear Ginger cocktail: Recipes from Star Bar, The Proper Pour

Our newest Lips of Faith release, Pear Ginger Beer, is officially out and pouring into pint glasses and mixologists’ cocktail shakers across our distribution. That’s right: Not only is the 7%-ABV Pear Ginger and awesome beer, but it makes a killer cocktail mixer as well. Brewed with pear, ginger and lemon peel, it adds a bright, spicy punch to any boozy blend. Hunt down a bottle or two with our Beer Finder.

For the release of Pear Ginger, we teamed up with some friends to concoct a whole bunch of cocktail recipes to get you started, like these four amazing drinks from Social in Fort Collins (hit the link to watch the DIY videos). The Mothership Buck

Justin Lloyd, owner of Star Bar

1 oz. Plymouth Sloe Gin

½ oz. Leopold Bros. Maraschino Liqueur

½ oz. fresh lemon juice

3 oz. New Belgium Pear Ginger

* Combine all ingredients in tin with ice, shake. Lightly dry shake beer in a separate tin. Pour over fresh ice in a Collins glass, top with foamed beer. Garnish with long lemon peel.


Ginger on the Rye

Justin Lloyd, owner of Star Bar

1 oz. Knob Creek Rye Whiskey

½ oz. Cocchi Torino

¼ oz. Dolin Dry Vermouth

2 oz. New Belgium Pear Ginger

* Pre-chill a couple of coupe glasses. Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass, except beer, and stir. Pour into coupes, top with beer. Garnish with Luxardo cherry.


Buck Up

McLain Hedges, owner of The Proper Pour

1 oz. Pear Gin

1 oz. Becherovka Liqueur

1 oz. lemon juice

4 oz. New Belgium Pear Ginger

* Add first three ingredients to a shaker tin. Shake, and then strain into tulip glass. Top with beer, and garnish with lemon wheel.


Spice of Life

McLain Hedges, owner of The Proper Pour

1 oz. St. George Spiced Pear

½ oz. Mezcal

½ oz. Ancho Reyes

½ oz. Cocchi Torino

¾ oz. lime juice

2 oz. Pear Ginger Beer

pinch of salt

* Add first five ingredients and the salt to shaker tin. Shake, and strain into a double Old Fashioned glass. Top with beer, add ice, and garnish with a lime wheel.
