So, we've got some bad news for you: Side Trip Belgian Style Pale Ale will soon be out of market (**Shakes fist at the sky"Noooooooo!"**). But, hey, that brings us to the good news: We've got a new beer coming your way. It's hoppy and it's blonde, so, you know, we're calling it Hoppy Blonde Ale. Super quaffable, super colorful, and super delicious, look for Hoppy Blonde at your local watering hole and bottle shop any day now.
So what’s the signature mark of Hoppy Blonde? Let's ask New Belgium's pilot R&D brewer Ross Koenigs.
“We wanted a beer that would showcase all of the subtle nuances of the Mosaic hop; a beautiful blonde color to evoke the coming summer and build a badass hop base to please the most discerning of hop-heads,” he says.
That’s right, for this easy-drinking release, we’ve packed in a bunch of fruity, tropical Mosaic hops, a variety we’ve become fond of and use for the likes of Rampant Imperial IPA, Slow Ride Session IPA, and our new year-round release Citradelic Tangerine IPA. Bonus hop additions of Centennial, UK Admiral and Simcoe round out Hoppy Blonde’s hop profile for a colorful mix of mango, lemon, blueberry and pine; a slightly sweet, baked bread malt flavor carries these hop tones across the tongue.
So, if you're a fan of New Belgium's hoppy beers, you're definitely going to dig Hoppy Blonde (and if super hoppy beers like Rampant are a bit too strong for your liking, you're also probably going to dig Hoppy Blonde's more subtle approach). This spring, we're cracking open a bunch of them at the brewery while waiting for the Colorado thaw.
