This year combines many favorite past ensemble acts like Sedan Halen, The Handsome Little Devils, Daredevil Chicken, and KOLARS – plus new and emerging musical talent from around the country. It’s a celebration of great beer, good people, and humankind’s most wonderful invention – the bicycle!

TOUR DE FAT SUPPORTS THESE ORGANIZATIONS
The mission of Bike Fort Collins is to unite Northern Colorado in building a world class community, committed to cycling for transportation, recreation, and social good. The funds generated from Tour de Fat are instrumental in the work of Bike Fort Collins which is to increase the number of bicyclists in Northern Colorado by addressing the areas of transportation equity, safe infrastructure, and development of an Active Living Plan. More information can be found at http://bikefortcollins.org/
In our Safe Routes to Schools program we worked with over 7500 elementary and middle school kids in the Poudre School District this past year. We’ve repaired bikes getting them ready to ride and helped many kids start riding bikes for the first time. We’ve also taught kids safe riding techniques, bicycle handling skills, led road rides to reinforce all these concepts, started 3 after school bike clubs and run weeklong summer bike camps. This has all resulted in unprecedented demand for additional bike safety and maintenance lessons, as well as more rides.
BFC has helped the Poudre Valley Mobile Home Park residents towards their goal of developing an Active Living Plan for community members. We’ve organized both adult and youth coalitions to begin understanding current needs and inhibitors to active transportation. The eventual result will be to remove barriers to both bicycling and walking as modes of transportation.
The mission of the Overland Mountain Bike Club is to promote the active, healthy sport of mountain biking by providing education and assistance to all trail users, and by working to build and maintain quality, sustainable trails that enhance the mountain biking experience. The funds generated from Tour de Fat goes to support a wide range programs, events and advocacy efforts that directly benefit the mountain biking, cycling and trail using communities in our region. The mission of the Ft. Collins Bike CO-OP is building community through bicycling. The funds generated from Tour de Fat were used to significantly improve the property recently purchased by the Fort Collins Bike Co-op and includes expanding the workspace, increase accessibility for customers and expand our Earn-A-Bike program to give out more bikes to the underserved population in our community. More information can be found at http://fcbikecoop.org/
The mission of the Ciclismo Youth Foundation is to promote, advocate and create youth cycling opportunities in our community. This past year, the funds from Tour de Fat were used to facilitate a coaches training summit and educate new and returning cycling coaches to insure consistency throughout all of our programs. We also use some of the funds to offer scholarships to underprivileged children who cannot afford the full price of our programs. Lastly, some of the funds will be used to offset the cost of paying our coaches and lower the overall program fees for everyone. More information can be found at http://ciclismoyouthfoundation.org/
